From turning an idea into a written script to the point of actually producing it as a movie to be screened before a live audience, Lights Camera Youth Action's mission is designed to give school-age children and teens the resources, training and encouragement to creatively express their thoughts through the medium of Digital Cinema, Digital Animation and Digital Claymation while also learning how to write, produce, direct, edit and monetize their own short digital film. This program offers fun and basic hands-on development training within the following curriculum:

  • Film Producing

  • Screenwriting

  • Directing

  • Production Management

  • Camera, Lighting and Sound Techniques

  • Editing

  • Marketing & Distribution

  • Monetization

This program can be offered in 1 to 10 week sessions and can accomodate up to 30 students at one time.  The workshops are divided into 3 to 5 groups depending on class size. Each group is responsible for creating various digital short films while learning how to work in various crew positions. During class time, each group receives their own equipment & supplies to create projects.  The resources to do this can either be provided by the Lights Camera Youth Action program or the school / youth organization.  Each session culminates with a premiere screening of the digital films created by the youth.
